Well I am all for less guns on our streets... However! I grew up in a rural area where a riffle was a common tool for farm or hunting. Back in the day my grandfather had a rifle above every doorway! Totally not cool by todays gun laws, but it was a different time back then!
Taking guns out of the wrong hands is a good thing but are we going too far as it relates to legal gun owners? Or for that matter anyone that owns a BB or paintball gun? I myself have never owned a firearm, but loved paintball and sup-air competitions. I was part of a team and it was great fun. Strategy, techniques and teamwork, not to mention the like minded friends you made along the way.
But now those paintball guns may now be classified as a restricted weapon! And no one has ever had to get a license for playing paintball before! So all those places your teenaged kids go to for birthday parties, that rent out equipment, may have to shut down! And if you or your child happen to own one, you are now in violation of the gun laws!!!
Imagine the impact this will have on businesses, well once we all get through Covid.
I came across a video that may explain it better.
In the end we have to do more to tackle the illegal guns, the underground gun trade, and the "built from parts" guns.
I agree Trevor ... the focus should be on tackling illegal gun ownership. I can assure you that the gun and gang violence that is happening around us is NOT being committed with legally obtained firearms.
